We have an exciting opportunity in our corporate office located in Mountville, PA for an experienced Accountant in a fast paced environment that requires an organized, hardworking individual. The opportunity includes potential for a supervisory role in the future. This position will report to the Controller.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Month-end close including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting
Financial statement preparation
Year-end close including interaction with outside accountants and auditors
Preparation for retirement plan audit, welfare plan audit, and insurance premium audit
Bookkeeping tasks associated with affiliated companies
Cross training with other areas of the accounting department for back-up purposes
Various state/federal tax returns including sales tax and other compliance returns and reports
Maintain excellent and consistent attendance and punctuality
Abide by all company policies and procedures
All other duties assigned by management
Must have knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, with superior Excel skills including queries, pivot tables, and advanced formulas
Experience with automated accounting systems
Sound decision-making skills and analytical skills
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Must work well in a team environment and with a diverse group of people
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION – The ideal candidate will have one or more of the following:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business with emphasis in Accounting
CPA with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting
5 years’ experience in private industry accounting
