Accounting Assistant

We have an exciting opportunity for an Accountng Assisitant out of our Mountville branch. The Accounting Assistant will support the Assistant Controller in accurately completing daily transactions for a multi branch business across multiple platforms. This position will be responsible for general accounting functions including preparing journal entries, entering deposits, maintaining balance sheet schedules, and assisting with the month-end and year-end closings.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Verify and post customer payments and other accounts receivable transactions

  • Prepare bank deposits and oversee petty cash for all locations

  • Research and resolve customer account discrepancies

  • Process employee reimbursements

  • Prepare account reconciliations and journal entries

  • Assist with month-end and year-end closings

  • Assist supervisor with annual audit

  • Prepare and distribute internal reports for multiple departments

  • Other Duties as assigned, including supporting accounts receivable and accounts payable

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Three (3) years General Accounting Experience

  • Three (3) years of experience with Microsoft Excel

  • Excellent computer, data entry, and Excel spreadsheet skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems quickly and accurately

  • Ability to apply discretion with confidential material

  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and good communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree

  • Prior experience with an ERP accounting system
