Assistant Service Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Service Manager located in our Carlisle Branch. The Assistant Service Manager will provide support to the clerical service support staff and Dock and Door technicians. In addition, this individual will work with customers to resolve service-related inquiries and concerns.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Evaluate customer work orders.

  • Assist with determining scope of work for service-related quotes and monitor the quote log with the Service Writer.

  • Support the Service Dispatchers in processing work orders, dispatching technicians and serve as a knowledgeable resource.

  • Assign Lead technicians to assist on-site employees who require additional assistance or supervision.

  • Coordinate installation and service repair jobs, including scheduling and arranging for transportation if necessary.

  • Audit labor reports against payroll data to ensure accuracy of services rendered by technicians.

  • Provide basic technical support regarding parts required, work order inquiries, or mobile tablet issues.

  • Assist Service Manager and others within department involved with monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) related to service performance i.e. WIP, PM Completion, etc.

  • Monitor and understand fleet maintenance reports to assist Fleet Manager in ensuring our technicians have appropriate vehicle coverage.

  • Order, monitor, and issue all technician uniforms and requests.

  • Respond to customer concerns related to invoices for services rendered.

  • Manage employee reviews and administer employee coaching or disciplinary action as directed by and or with guidance of Service Manager.

  • Review warranty claims for accuracy and ensure warrantable claims provide comprehensive information prior to submission.

  • Assist the Service Manager as needed on miscellaneous tasks and projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to effectively present information to co-workers, clients, and the public.

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and fractions.

  • Ability to apply mathematical formulas to calculate discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; strong proficiency in Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook.

  • Sound decision making skills.

  • Presents a professional demeanor

Preferred

  • One (1+) years of management experience in automotive or equipment industry.

  • Two (2+) years of experience in the automotive or equipment industry.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. resents a professional demeanor.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or its equivalent

  • 2 years of related experience and/or training
