Parts Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Parts Manager at our Mountville, PA location. This position is responsible for day-to-day operations of the Parts Department, including employee management, purchasing, inventory control and customer service. Employees reporting to the Parts Manager include Warehouse Staff, Parts Delivery Drivers and Parts Counter Sales Staff. This position reports to the Mountville Branch Manager.

The successful candidate will participate in a comprehensive training program which includes computer systems training, orientation with four Branch Parts Managers, one-on-one facility based training with the Company Parts Manager, travel with Major Account Parts Specialist and optional attendance at OEM meetings.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintain staffing for the department. This includes hiring, training, motivating and monitoring staff performance.

  • Manage inventory levels based on demand, new products and specific client need.

  • Visit large clients to ensure high service level and to develop relationships.

  • Maintain an orderly workplace and warehouse.

  • Develop parts sales strategies.

  • Coordinate with Service Department and Aftermarket Sales Representatives.

  • Monitor quote activity and workflow through the department to ensure timely responses.

  • Assist staff, as needed, to handle client and service technician parts needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be over 18 years old

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • High school diploma or its equivalent

  • Three years parts experience in an automotive, material handling, heavy equipment, or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years management experience

  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude

  • Strong computer skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel

  • Professional appearance and demeanor

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team on a variety of tasks.

Working Conditions:

  • Physical requirements necessary include standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, most of the time with infrequent opportunities to sit.

  • Must be able to lift or exert force of up to 50 pounds with occasional need to lift or exert over 100 pounds.

  • Ability to work in wet or humid conditions, as well as extreme cold or heat.

  • Occasionally may be required to perform work in the evenings or on weekends.
